Why to shop ethically?

There are so many reasons why you should start shopping ethically that I don’t even know where to start.

First of all, we need to understand what does the concept ”ethically made” actually means? It means that no human being was hurt in the making of the product that you are purchasing.

Yes, I know, it may sound weird for some (maybe you are used to look for the tag with ‘not animal tested’), but do you actually know that real people are being mistreated for some of the fast fashion products that you’re buying?

Every purchase that you make has an impact on others.

If you’re not already familiarized with this concept you need to make some research about it. Read books, articles, watch documentaries. Don’t be passive and know that your decision matters.

*I recommend watching this:

Poor working conditions, unfair wages, human trafficking, production methods and materials that harm the environment—these business practices are more common than you think. That’s why it’s important to buy ethically traded products.

What questions should you ask yourself before buying something?

When I was not aware of my unconscious habits I used to go shopping having in mind just some questions like: ”Do I really like this?”, ”Can I afford it?”.

I was not thinking beyond that, like ”Who made this product?”

Of course I knew the brand I was buying, but I am talking about thinking of the actual employee and the conditions in which he or she worked.

When buying ethically you ask yourself this questions:

Who (person not the brand itself) made my dress, my shoes, my accessories, etc. ?
